The Melville Monument erected in 1823.

Dominating the centre of St Andrew Square is the fluted column of the Melville Monument, commemorating Henry Dundas, (1742-1811), the first Viscount Melville. The Melville Monument is surrounded by the beautiful St Andrew Square Gardens.
